Polar Bears

Churchill Manitoba is home to Polar Bears. Only pregnant females 'hibernate' in a den from October to April. The bears wait for the ice to come ashore in the late fall to hunt for seals. When the ice melts in mid-summer, they stay around town. They don't eat anything and can be dangerous for the locals who have come to get used to them.

Sparring

While polar bears try to conserve energy until the ice comes to shore, they do get into little spats.
